Tavern Trouble (Heroclix)
We've featured several DC and Marvel Heroclix sets on Board's Eye View but we've not focused so much on WizKids' excellent range of Dungeons & Dragons Heroclix figures. You can use them with their Heroclix dials in a Heroclix combat game but we reckon many will press them into service in conventional fantasy roleplaying games (RPG).
If you haven't the time, patience or skill to paint plastic models for your D&D games night then this range of Heroclix figures is a fantasy godsend and a comparatively cost-effective way of populating your adventuring.
It's the oversized menacing Mimic that dominates the Tavern Trouble set, portrayed bursting out of a keg of ale ready to give a literal tongue lashing to any adventurers unfortunate enough to be in range. It's a powerful foe (points value up 200 in a Heroclix game) but the other characters in the set aren't easily dismissed. They comprise a Dwarf Fighter, Gnome Bard and, our favourite sculpt, an Elf Wizard, spellbook in hand.
Our Board's Eye View 360 shows the Tavern Trouble miniatures on the playmat that comes in the pack. It's double-sided to facilitate different scenarios and there are cardboard overlays that can be flipped to represent rubble.
