This Wooden Games Workshop Chess set from Professor Puzzle is a standard game of Chess. And, no, we're not going to be reviewing Chess per se. We're going to assume anyone reading this will already be aware of Chess and its rules. We're featuring this set tho' as one of our 2025 Christmas Gift ideas.
This is a standard Chess set with wooden pieces and a wooden board that's 11 inches square. The board tho' folds in the centre and doubles as a box in which you can store all the pieces. It's a space-saver that makes this version a suitable travelling companion but it opens up to provide a rather more satisfying iteration of the game than the many tiny plastic travel Chess sets on the market.
This neat and attractive wooden set from Professor Puzzle could make a great stocking filler gift for introducing youngsters to Chess. Who knows - you could be setting your child on the path to becoming a future GrandMaster.
